Burnout is contagious

It spreads through a team the same way regulation does. Quietly. Through tone, energy, and what people absorb from the person next to them.

Burnout starts in the nervous systemTogether we'll go deeper, into what's actually happening in the nervous system when a team starts running on empty. Then we'll talk about how to change it.I spent a decade in software running teams that were running on empty. Before that I was an entrepreneur, building from the ground up. I've seen firsthand how nervous systems regulate and dysregulate together, and since 2022 I've been studying nervous systems and working hands-on with individuals to find their way back to balance and regulation.

Sound familiar?Turnover of your best people. Meetings that used to have energy and don’t anymore. Your team is defensive or procrastinating. You’re holding them together and running on fumes doing it.See the signs →

If any of that landed, it’s not a rough quarter. It’s a pattern, but patterns can change.

Regulation is contagious too

About Anna

My body learned what my mind had been telling me for years:There is a better way.

I used to be the CEO of a successful software company. On paper, I had it all. In my body, I was falling apart. After health scares that I could no longer ignore, I left my career to focus on healing. That’s when I discovered what Western medicine and talk therapy had been missing: My nervous system default was heightened and vigilant. My body was holding decades of unprocessed stress, perfectionism, and emotion. I needed to work with it somatically, not just understand it intellectually.By a piecemeal effort, lots of trial and error, wandering down many paths, I slowly learned what my nervous system needed. I learned how to give it that. Now I bring that same work to teams and leaders, so they don't have to leave their positions and wander like I did.I'm a speaker and teacher, additionally I'm a licensed massage therapist and Reiki Master, trained in Zen Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Zen Shiatsu Chicago, specializing in Nervous System Regulation and Co-regulation. I also work individually with clients on somatic bodywork and Reiki through Soma Naperville.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in a keynote or talk?A tailored 45-60 minute presentation on nervous system regulation and team burnout, plus a pre-call to align the talk with your audience and goals.Do you work virtually?Yes. Small group training and individual coaching are both available virtual or in-person. Keynotes are typically in-person but can be done virtually if needed. How far in advance should we book? The sooner the better, especially for conferences or dates tied to a specific event. Reach out and I'll let you know what's available. How much does this cost?
Most corporate consultants keep pricing behind a “contact for proposal” wall. I’d rather just tell you.
My rates are built the same way I build everything else here: transparently, and based on the actual time and depth of the work, not on what the market will bear. What do keynotes and talks cost?
Starting at $2,500. That minimum reflects the hours already invested in building the talk and the presentation skillset behind it, not to mention the decade of experience leading teams in software. This fee is a culmination of my experience, not just the time I spend on-stage.
What does small group training cost? Is there a maximum group size?
$150/hour, whether virtual or in-person, for groups up to 20 people. Larger groups or multi-session rollouts are scoped individually, reach out and we'll talk specifics.
What does individual coaching cost?
$150/hour. This is a different rate than my personal practice, and intentionally so. Corporate work draws on a broader skillset and a different depth of experience, leading teams and organizations, not just individual sessions.
Do you charge for travel?
Sessions within 30 minutes of Naperville are billed for session time only, no travel added.
Beyond that, in-person group training and individual coaching are billed portal-to-portal, meaning drive time to and from your location is included in the hours billed. Virtual sessions have no travel component and are always billed for session time only.If a talk or training takes me outside Chicago, actual travel costs (flight, hotel, meals) are billed at cost, no markup. If it requires an overnight, there’s an additional $1,000/night away. That number isn’t a fee for inconvenience. This work is built on regulation, stability, and staying connected to the people and places that keep my own nervous system steady. Time away from that has a real cost, and I ask to be compensated for it honestly, the same way I’d ask you to protect what keeps you regulated too.Ready to talk specifics?ContactEmail: annakbrozek@ gmail.com

Signs of Team BurnoutWhat you’re seeing in your people• Your best people are quietly checking out, doing the job but not really there
• Turnover keeps hitting the people you can least afford to lose
• Meetings feel flat, low energy, nobody pushing back or offering ideas
• Small mistakes are increasing, not because people are careless, but because they’re maxed out
• Conflict either explodes or gets buried, nothing in between
• People respond to feedback with blame and defensiveness
• Individuals want to be right more than they want to be effective

What you’re carrying as the leader• You’re absorbing everyone else’s stress and don't know what to do with your own
• You’re the calm one for everyone else, and no one is that for you
• You’re making decisions faster than you’re able to think them through
• You feel responsible for the team’s energy, and exhausted by that responsibility
• You know something needs to change but can’t tell if it’s the people, the process, or you

The key distinction from a rough month: these patterns are persistent, not situational. It’s not one hard sprint. It’s the new baseline. That’s the target of this work: not another wellness perk, but resetting the pattern underneath. What no one teaches leaders is that a team’s regulation runs downhill from the top, and it is built on your entire life - not just what happens in the office. When you’re running on empty, reactive, stretched thin, your team feels it and matches it, whether you say anything out loud or not. When you’re steady, they have a shot at steady too.Learn how patterns can change →
